Flash does have an issue with rendering text. Especially with
antialiased text. If you can do with non-antialiased text or device
fonts instead, the results will be significantly faster.

Also AFAIK the Flash player on PC is much faster than on Mac.

The IBM demos look good. They look like they were developed using
Vultus.
